flowering pear leaves and berries

On Thanksgiving morning a few months ago, I went out early and photographed some of the leaves and trees in my neighborhood. I used one of the photographs as a guide for this painting. It has become one of my favorites.

My friend, Jim, saw it and called me wanting to know how much I wanted for it. Not wanting to part with it, I painted another version for Jim.

A flowering Pear Tree was planted in the front yard of the home we are building in the Pacific NW by the homeowner's association. Not having seen one, I googl-ed images, ofcourse, and your beautiful painting leapt off the screen at me! You have captured something that speaks to me and certainly expresses more to me about what a flowering pear tree is than any stock photo landscape image ever could...thank you. I can see why your friend wanted this work of art...Jeff

Jeff, thanks so much for your comment. Its a great encouragement to me. I planted two flowering pear trees myself this past fall. They bloom beautifully white in the spring, but their colors in the fall nearly take my breath away.
